Desserts at Ann Siang Hill and Duxton

Yay mids are finally over. I got back my Macro paper and I did averagely well. The paper was a killer so am glad i scored around average marks. whew.

I have been drinking lots of carrot and celery juice. Somehow they help me sleep better. Read that its good for nervous system. The guys were so cute. They went up to the juice auntie today and said, 'i'll have whatever she (pointing to me) is having.' They ended up making faces after drinking my juice. haha

We skipped lessons today and went down to tanjong pagar for a mini food/dessert hunt.

Although this is the last place we headed too, I shall start this post by saying..I love sake. It goes down  so smoothly and warms up and throat and belly. A very comforting social drink. We had sake at a japanese restaurant whose food was passable and forgettable before heading to Five for beers. The drinks at Five are the standard beers, we didn't have anything exciting to blog about.

Our favourite dessert place for the day was this french/Jap patisserie -Flor located at Duxton hill. I've wanted to try this place for ages. The cakes were so unique and somewhat resembled a strudel cake with tasty flaky pastry. Thumbs up! I did not manage to try their famous strawberry shortcake unfortunately. We choose one of their most popular cakes, their waguri millefuille, which was really delicious with a nice blend of creme and pastry.

Here's the famous kki at 7 Ann siang hill. The pretty cakes were rich in flavour and expensive. From the top left is Tiramisu, Little Red riding hood (dark chocolate with raspberry) and Emily champage cake. My favourite was the dark chocolate cake. It was intensely chocolately enough.

Though kki is a cute place to hang out, I am not sure if i will head back there unless i am there for dinner. The cakes while lovely and delectable are not as unique as Flor's. And Antionette at Manadarin Gallery serves similar cakes at similar prices at a more accessible location.
